Another early wake up, followed by our daily dose of eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. After a fantastic day yesterday we were all more than eager to get back on the buses and to our beautiful smiley children.
Morning started with the usual entrance into a swarm of children who love our time, love and affection. (Which we were all more than willing to give!)
The day was full of joy and laughter as the children experienced new and exciting ways of play, these included playing with foam, bubbles, playdough, colouring and much, much more.
The afternoon session consisted of more crazy antics from the older local children from the slum. We were all more than touched when a local boy expressed his thanks and informed us that it was the first time he had experienced such kindness and dedication to his community.
Overall, another fantastic day from a fantastic team. Mark, aged 16,says ‘this is a really good experience that has made me realize that I have more than other people in the world and helped me to stop treating things like they will never run out.” Shauna aged 16 said “amazing and life changing because we are making a difference to children’s life’s” Daniel aged 14 said “fun and emotional as I have enjoyed my time here and I brought away self reflection skills which will help me at home, to appreciate the little things in life”
