Bambi aka Toby here, again
Before the fish-centric dinner, we went on a trip into the AAPPB exhibition, about political prisoners who have been freed, and who are still under arrest in Burmese prisons. Whilst in the exhibition, we were given a talk by ex-political prisoners and staff of the exhibition, they gave us valuable and distressing insights into their times in prison, and the reasons for them being there.
Whilst looking through the exhibition, we saw pictures of ex and current prisoners, including monks. Many of the pictures and objects that were used in the Burmese prisoners, were used to force prisoners into giving ‘confessions’, that would be used to incriminate themselves for ‘committing ‘their alleged crimes.
Ches and Nim here- ohhh yeah
This…what we think…morning, we were given money and went into the main town of Mae Sot, and were given 150 baht (this is equivalent to £3) and given a list of things we had to go get, a scavenger hunt, except we were lost most of the time. Very weird experience we stumbled across some very interesting things that will stay in our minds for a long time! (Frogs in nets and live eels.) Tomorrow we leave for the camp and have to be awake at 6.30 in the morning! Paul thinks it’s going to be a hilarious experience waking us up with water and steel pots! We will be locking our door! Missing you lots famalam! Peace out and goodnight! Oh missing you lots dobby!!!!!! Love ches…lol haha rofl lmao hehehe..jokes. From Nimeh <3
So tommorow we set off early …6.30 breakfast then we hit the road through the mountains to Claw Taw village to arrive before 2 pm for our first ever Karen Wedding. Thanks for the comments great fun reading them out over dinner. Will try and pick up in the morning so any more comments very welcome. Good night!
